GLOBALX.CA/TSTX Short-term Treasuries are a traditional safe-haven asset. In an environment where Canadian investors face equity volatility, elevated mortgage costs, and questions about growth, TSTX can act as a defensive anchor in portfolios while still delivering regular income. Protection Amid Rate Uncertainty By focusing on 1–3 year U.S. Treasuries, TSTX delivers yield while helping to keep duration risk (interest rate sensitivity) low—an important consideration in an uncertain interest rate cycle. Diversification U.S. Treasuries are considered the global benchmark for safety and liquidity. Holding them adds diversification benefits that Canadian government bonds alone may not be able to offer. TSTX seeks to replicate, to the extent possible and net of expenses, the performance of an index that is designed to measure the performance of U.S. treasuries with a remaining term to maturity between one and three years (currently, the ICE U.S. Treasury 1-3 Year Bond Index).
